Data & Processing
Data & Processing
Orthographic imaging
- This process digitally stitches individual photos into large photo-mosaic images.
- They provide near real-time high resolution images of large areas.
- These files can be exported into Google Earth or other GIS platforms for further analysis.
3-D imaging
- Multiple images and additional drone data generate three dimensional representations of property, buildings and other structures.
- Data analysis tools allow for a variety of calculations of volumetric and spatial information.
Spectral analysis (NIR) - See Jamaican Mangrove Project
Chlorophyll/Soil Moisture - Near Infra-Red (NIR) sensors collect data from just beyond the visible spectrum which can provide critical information about crop health and other environmental factors. This data can be factored into planning such things as watering, fertilizing or harvesting crops.
Spectral analysis (FLIR)
Thermal scanning - Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) sensors collect data from longer infra-red waves. These include information about heat. This sensor has numerous applications in asset inspection, maintenance, law enforcement, search & rescue and fire safety.
Asset inspection
- Drones can inspect assets in ways well beyond normal human accessibility. This can be done free-flight or autonomously. They may include visible, NIR or FLIR sensors.
Construction
- Drones provide real-time information from a variety of viewpoints. Using drone images over time can provide information about progress and allows for better informed decision making and trouble-shooting.
